Missing Images When Copying Source Code?
So I've been noticing that sometimes images that I've embedded in HTML Learning Activities go missing inexplicably. I'm wondering if it's because I'm cutting and pasting reused source code from one learning product to another? In some cases, the source code has images embedded.
Investigating, I've noticed that when browsing for existing images in the media uploader, I can only see and select images that were uploaded for that specific learning product. i.e., there's nothing I've previously uploaded elsewhere on the site or for other learning products. Is that the problem?
Does that mean I need to re-upload reused images again for every learning product?

Hi Rob, You are correct, you would need to re-upload the images again. This is done so that the integrity of the products is maintained, and so that if someone goes in and changes an asset, it will not break in other products.
My experience is the same as Misty's. It would be very helpful if there was a "Media Library" in which you could organize and manage images and other media types, instead of having libraries that are exclusive for each product.
Agreed. Having to reload the same asset multiple times is not only time-consuming up front, but time-consuming for ongoing maintenance and promotes possible error. If we have a resource that is used in five different products and we go to update it, we have to do it in all five products, which takes more time and increases the chance that we will miss one.
Thank you all for your responses. At least I understand why it's happening now. Please add me to the people wanting a "shared library" or folder of media assets. I also routinely wish for some type of "clone product" or "clone lesson" functionality, because we have a lot of duplicate lessons across our learning products.
I am adding my name to this list as well. We first mentioned the desire to have just ONE universal image library about 3 years ago. I understand the point about integrity for an individual learning product, but IMO, that risk is very small compared the reward of not having to upload the same images over and over for different LPs. And could you just add that to the "review" of a LP, or a warning on the publish confirmation screen? I.E. "An image used by this LP has been updated and is also used by ## other LPs".
