Sprint 88-A was released on Monday, 7/31/17 and included the following enhancement:
Video Hosting transfer from Brighcove to Akamai: Akamai provides a flexible and powerful media player with high quality playback, the Akamai Media Player. With adaptive streaming technologies, and over 15 years of content distribution and streaming experience, Akamai will help ensure all your videos look and play their best. The Akamai Media Player and our Akamai integration also opens the door to supporting other features in the future that will give you more control over your videos.
To accomplish the transfer before a 7/31 contract deadline, our primary focus this sprint was to ensure end-users could play existing videos. In this Sprint we have:
- Transferred all existing videos to Akamai
- Updated the video players in Learner Community to the Akamai Media Player (AMP)
- Set the groundwork for uploading to Akamai through Learner Community
The transfer will be finalized in Sprint 88-B in order to re-enable an administrator’s ability to:
- Upload new videos
- Add/Edit the video preview “poster” image
Sprint 88-B will be released Monday, August 7th. If you have an emergency need to upload a new video before then, please contact your client advocate who will help facilitate that through an alternate process.
