Sprint 60 was released on Monday, 7/14/14, and included the following enhancements and new features:

NEW

  • Drop Box: A new learning activity has been added to support drop box functionality in an instructor led scenario. The activity will give the learners instructions including what needs to be uploaded for grading/scoring. The learning product section administrator will be notified when there are pending items to be graded/scored. The administrator can then choose to accept the submission with a score or reject the submission from the learner. Both options notify the learner and allow the administrator to optionally supply comments and attach a file back to the learner.
  • Video Maximum Width: From the video library you can now set a maximum with to your videos. This is useful in scenarios where you may have lower quality videos that don't display well when placed into large content areas.

ENHANCEMENTS

  • Discussion Learning Activity: The introduction message now supports HTML.
  • Reset Email Templates: For those that have customized any of the email templates, a new reset to default feature has been added.
  • Email Templates: A new field has been added to the templates to allow your organization to reference just the receipient's last name.
  • Printed Assessment Results: The PDF results for assessment results now include the learner's full name.
  • Certifications: A new certification area has been added to the Admin > Manage Learner > Learner area.It also includes the ability to revoke access to a certification if there are no enrollments associated with it.
  • Assessment: When an administrator is working with an assessment's outline, clicking the view questions link on a pool will now filter the questions tab to show just the questions in that pool.

    @Sara - How do the email notifications work for Drop Box? Are they rolled into the daily notification digest sent to learners and admins? Or configured separately? Is there an ability to notify the admin immediately when files are submitted?

  • AaronLS

    @Matt These notification will appear immediately in the red bell icon in the upper right. They will also show up in the daily notification digest, under an Enrollment Activity heading. We considered immediate emails but for consistency we stuck with including in the daily digest. We've considered immediate emails for other things in the past, but have always sided with the daily digest for a variety of reasons. Especially with this activity there is a potential that some instructors might be flooded with emails to the extent that it would be a nuisance. We've discussed allowing the user to choose more frequent emails, but have never found a really compelling case where the Daily frequency is a terrible compromise.

  • AaronLS

    @Matt Actually, eating crow a little bit, we haven't implemented notifications to the admins yet. Only the Learner gets notifications when an admin rejects/accepts a submission. We are planning to add notifications for the admins soon!

  • Matt Kamen

    @Aaron - Thanks; what's the size limit for the files? 25mb?

  • AaronLS

    @Matt That's right, 25mb
