We are planning to integrate with at least one leading webinar provider for a new webinar learning activity type that you can use within your learning products, and we'd like your input on desired features and providers.
When evaluating the providers, our main goals for integration are:
- Automatically schedule learners into a webinar
- Detect time spent in webinar, which can be used as a learning activity completion requirement
- Automatically schedule learning product section admins into the webinar as admins/moderators

We'd like the provider to be able to support:
- Viewing webinar directly from browser without having to download/install additional software
- Audio support via browser and/or phone number support
- Admin ability to mute participants
- Chat functionality with admins and peers

What features are important to you and what webinar providers are you currently using today?

    C'mon folks! This comes up all the time! Let me restate the question(s) -- who is your preferred webinar/web meeting provider? Webex? Gotomeeting? Etc? And why? What features are most important?

    RAPS uses Adobe Connect and we are also looking at Level 3's solution. Most providers meet the minimum criteria for use - chat functionality, ability to mute participants, ability to record, etc - and we understand each will have varying features, but our biggest challenge is on the fulfillment side. This is due to us having separate systems for e-Commerce and delivery of the webcast (we charge for our webcasts.) Understanding it is possible to integrate Personify with Level 3, the last time we investigated this option we discovered it would take a good amount of time to reach the solution we were looking for, which is no manual intervention on the fulfillment side.

    From our perspective, features are nice, but easy integration with an AMS resulting automatic fulfillment when collecting money would add a lot of value.

    Thanks Chris, we will also look at Level 3's Web Meeting product offering. Our goal is to keep the process as automated as possible which would likely put Learner Community handling the fulfillment (putting a user into a web conference) during our Order Sync process with an AMS (Personify in your case).
